SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois Supreme Court is rolling out a new interactive dashboard to provide info on cases that are in pretrial status.

The Court’s Office of Statewide Pretrial Services (OSPS) unveiled the new dashboard on Tuesday. It provides a summary of several initial decision points for criminal cases filed since the implementation of the Pretrial Fairness Act on Sept. 18, 2023. Data is available for 75 of Illinois’ 102 counties .

“We are excited to share this data on the pretrial process,” OSPS Director Cara LeFevour Smith said. “The data makes clear how hard judges and other stakeholders across Illinois have worked to implement the Pretrial Fairness Act.”

Individual counties have rolled out pretrial data dashboards in the past. This is the first dashboard to cover most of the state.

Office of Statewide Pretrial Services was established in 2021 to provide increased public safety and equality in the pretrial stage of the criminal justice system.
