The Fourth of July is fast approaching, and Springfield’s annual Rock the Dock celebration will be lighting up the skies in central Illinois.

This one-night event will have more than enough food to fill anyone up with several food and cold drink vendors across the marina.

Here’s what's going down at the docks this July.

    What’s Rock the Dock?

Rock the Dock is central Illinois' place to go for fireworks for Independence Day celebrations.

    Where is it happening?

The party starts right on the waterfront at Lake Springfield Marina, 17 Waters Edge Blvd.

What time does Rock the Dock start?

The vendors and events start at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 5, and run all the way to the fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.

    Is it free?

Not for adults. Tickets are $10 at the gate for anyone over 13 years old.

    What entertainment will be there?

Live music by Deja Voodoo, a local band focusing on 70’s vibes, will kick off the live music with artist Joel Honey as opener. Central Illinois’ largest on-water fireworks display begins at dusk and will run until the end of the night. An official afterparty at Win, Lose, or Draught on Kingsmill Court goes from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a $100 gift card drawing.
