    11 without a home after fire on Willard Avenue in Springfield

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Fire Department worked to put out a fire on Willard Avenue Saturday morning.

    According to the Springfield Fire Department, crews were at 40 Willard Avenue for a house fire. According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, 11 people are without a home and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

    No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined by the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad to be improper disposal of smoking material on the second-floor porch.
