    Maroon 5 plays at the MassMutual Center in Springfield

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Monday night downtown Springfield was booming with business as a three-time Grammy-winning band, Maroon 5 made their special appearance at the MassMutual Center.

    The American pop-rock band brought in a large crowd, consisting of both local residents and visitors from out of town. The performance also providing an economic boost to the hotels, restaurants and other businesses in the downtown Springfield area. Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill owner says he’s excited to see a full house at his restaurant.

    Nadim Kashouh, Owner of Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill told 22News, “It will kind of put us on a busy weekend kind of day on a Monday, which is a bonus for us. You know, you don’t expect those numbers to happen on a you know, during the week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So we were ecstatic about that.”

    Esterina O’Donnell, the Marketing Manager for the MassMutual Center said, “It’s nice to see everybody downtown and out and about and of course, watch the show Monday night.”

    Before Maroon 5 took the stage the MassMutual Center gave the band a hand painted basketball made by a Springfield native. This is the only arena in the northeast to have this show.
