4th of July cookouts will be costlier this year

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The price to put on a cookout this Fourth of July holiday will be costlier than last year, thanks to inflation.

That’s according to economists with the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Their data show feeding a group of ten people this year will average at just over $71 —compared to last year at $67. Meat will be the biggest dent in your grocery budget—up by 11% this year and averaging nearly $13.

Other cookout staples will be costly as well, 32 oz of pork and beans will be nearly $3, and 2 lbs of potato salad at $4.
