    Police investigating deadly Springfield shooting on Massasoit Street

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The police are investigating a deadly shooting on Massasoit Street in Springfield.

    Springfield rep’s appeal on gun corridors: “people are afraid”

    According to Springfield police spokesperson Ryan Walsh, officers were called to a ShotSpotter activation at around 10:55 p.m. in the area of the 100 block of Massasoit Street. Upon arrival, police found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound.

    The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died due to his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. No arrests have been made.
