Thunderbirds share day of fun with Square One students

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)– The Springfield Thunderbirds teamed up with Square One to host a fun filled day.

There were smiles on the faces of children at the Christian Life Center for a day of activities. Staying cool and getting wet were a big part of the day.

Members of the front office at the T-Birds, along with Boomer, participated as well. Some of the more popular games were water balloons and Duck Duck Goose.

“It just reconnects us with the work that we do and why we do it. This is why we do what we do, keep these kids happy and give them the best experience that they can to enjoy a great summer,” said Kristine Allard, Vice President of Development and Communication at Square One.

There were 40 children in attendance from ages 5 to 12. After all the activities they enjoyed a complimentary pizza lunch from Frankie and Johnny’s Pizza, along with an ice cream treat to top it all off.

Keith Allen at the Thunderbirds help to set up the event. He said there is nothing better than these kids having the time of their lives during the summer.
