CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)– Despite the 90 degree heat subsiding, the summer humidity is expected to stick around through the week.

Humidity often increased significantly before and during any rainy weather. Humidity also tends to make temperatures feel a lot warmer because we’re not able to sweat as easily.

July has not reached average rainfall, yet

Springfield resident Angel Santiago told 22News that he’s felt the heat a lot more this year.

“It’s actually been worse I don’t know how the previous years go because it feels like years been flying by but it’s been pretty hot. It’s been pretty hot lately and it’s manageable but I never get used to it,” said Santiago.

The humidity is expected to drop as we get closer to the weekend, but rainy days are keeping it muggy.
