SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)- A technology outage that affected airlines, hospitals and businesses worldwide last week continues to impact us here in the commonwealth.

While some appointments have resumed, vehicle inspections are still unavailable today.
22News spoke with Gary Leyden, from Gary’s Auto Repair, who says that he’s has been forced to turn away drivers looking for inspection stickers because their machines are down.

He is just one of many local business owners statewide that have been hurt by this outage. This error cloud that appears on his screen adding to that frustration.

Leyden is missing out on 30-40 inspections each day that the system is down and he doesn’t know when it’ll be up and running once again

“Customers are coming in day to day trying to get a sticker people that need a re-inspect and can’t get re-inspect. People buying cars can’t get the inspection within seven days
and people just trying to get stickers. Can’t get a sticker,” said Gary Leyden, owner of Gary’s Auto Repair in Springfield.

“The customers keep coming and coming saying, When is it gonna be open? And we don’t know when it’s gonna be open, the state doesn’t tell you anything so we can’t really do much about,” said August Roberge an inspector, Gary’s Auto Repair.

Gary’s inspectors are out of work until things are back up, so his employees can’t get paid because there’s no work to do.

When systems are officially back up Gary plans to extend hours to make up for lost time.
