Oxbow Water Ski Team puts on last home show of season

It’s the big show put on by the Oxbow Water Ski Show Team. Breath taking pyramids, lifts and tricks were all taken to the next level. The youngest athlete, 10-year old Brayden O’Neil said being on skis is what he loves to do.

“It’s just fun like you get used to it and like falling is fun” says Brayden O’Neil.

Water skiing is a popular sport in Florida and Wisconsin and is making waves here in Massachusetts. Dozens gathered for the last home costume-themed show of the season Thursday. All of the teams from the eastern region will soon be heading to Northampton to compete.

“That’s happening right here at the oxbow water sports complex on old Springfield road featuring individuals doing swivel skiing, strap couples, freestyle jump and team jump” says Nicole Berndt, with Oxbow Water Ski.

The team’s tournament kicks off Saturday in Northampton. Admission is free and open to the public. Parking is $5.00.
