    Springfield woman says this is the most important thing she learned from life as she turns 99

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A very special birthday celebration was held in Springfield on Friday to honor lifelong resident Elia Sorrells better known as “Auntie” at the Raymond Jordan Senior Center.

    Auntie turns 99 years old and she was very happy to celebrate this momentous milestone in her life with family friends, city officials, and her domino team the recycled teenagers.

    Auntie tells 22news what this day means to her., “It’s wonderful to be around so many people that you know they love you and they show they love you alone and it just makes you feel good,” said Sorrells.

    Auntie says that she’s learned a lot from life but the most important thing that she learned was to give people respect and let them know that you love them.
