    GARY M. DUNIGAN

    By Herald Staff,

    2024-06-10

Gary M. Dunigan, age 75, was born Jan. 29, 1949, to Hubert and Della (Aldridge) Dunigan. He was ushered into his heavenly home June 4, 2024, in Springfield, Mo. with his family by his side.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy; grandparents, many other family members, as well as “special friends.” He proudly served his country in the Army. He went to Vietnam and served eight months. He drove gun trucks to protect convoys on the road.

Upon his return, he met and married Sandra Medlock and was blessed with 51 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two wonderful sons, Bradley Joe and Brian Lee. He was proud of his boys and loved them very much.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra of the home; sons, Bradley Joe of Joplin, Mo. and Brian Lee (Meresa) of Licking, Mo.; grandchildren, Kobye, Kayden, Rowdy Dunigan and Casey and Audrey Huff.

He is now enjoying all the beautiful sights of heaven, meeting his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Gary had put his trust in the only one that can save us from eternal separation from Jesus Christ.

He is finally home, no more tears, sickness or pain that he endured the past several years. He is safe in the arms of Jesus Christ, where nothing can ever hurt him again.

Gary was a wonderful and caring husband, a devoted and loving father to his sons, a doting Papa to his grandkids, and his only wish is one day to be reunited with them in Heaven.

He loved the simple things in life, enjoying his home, and drinking coffee on the deck with his wife. Gary was big-hearted, always wanting to help others.

Gary will be missed by those who loved him, but we take comfort in knowing he is enjoying being home at last in the presence of Jesus. Until we meet again, Gary…we love you!

A visitation for Gary was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11 at Evans Funeral Home. A funeral service followed at noon with Pastor Darrell Case officiating. A committal service with Military Honors followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers were Kenny Ferrell, Brian Dunigan, Kobye Dunigan, David Roberts and Sam Rogers. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com .
