    417's food, drink scene gains 2 spots outside Springfield for brews and games

    This week in 417 foodie news: There's one more thing to do in Branson, a little breakfast cafe announces a big move and Seymour gets a spot for brews and board games.

    Branson entertainment complex opens

    The Social Birdy , 1250 Branson Hills Parkway in Branson, has officially opened its doors. The entertainment complex includes activities like golf and pickleball and serves food and drinks.

    “Our goal was to create the best shared experience possible. We wanted to major on the food and beverage side while having multiple active options for date night,” co-owner Trey Pelz said in a press release.

    The spot, which has been in development since 2022, bills itself as "an answer to those subpar outings we tend to forget." The Social Birdy is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

    Rountree breakfast cafe announces plan to move

    Sleepy Opossum Cafe announced on Facebook that it will be moving out of The Royal Music Hall at 1427 E. Cherry St. after almost three years there. The cafe offers baked goods and breakfast foods.

    "It’s a bittersweet announcement because we have absolutely loved our time with @theroyalmusichall the past (almost) 3 years," owner Dani Hunnell wrote in a post . "We wouldn’t have been able to grow the way we have if it wasn’t for them! But we are ready to fly the nest and are moving into the old @fleur_floralstudio building" at 1423 E. Cherry St., Suite 101.

    According to the post, the Sleep Opossum will stay at The Royal for a few more weeks and will be in the new space "in a month or so."

    Seymour brewery celebrates grand opening

    Axehead Beverage Co. , 117 E. Market St. in Seymour, will have its grand opening this weekend. The brewery and meadery offers beverages and a collection of board games for people to choose from. Axhead does not serve food, but allows guests to bring in outside food and hosts food trucks.

    It's open from 11 a.m to 8 p.m. Thursday and Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
