Andy's Frozen Custard traces its origins to Osage Beach, where John and Carol Kuntz launched their frozen custard business on March 19, 1986. Shortly afterward, they expanded to Springfield, where John and Carol’s son Andy and his wife Dana pushed the dessert to the next level. Together, they worked on expanding their custard dessert and service locations.

Now, Andy’s Frozen Custard has more than 135 locations throughout Missouri, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Andy's Frozen Custard is the largest dessert-only franchise in the world.

Andy Kuntz is featured here in front of the Andy’s Frozen Custard menu at the 2726 S. Campbell Ave. location, around 1991.
