The August primary is just around the corner and Ozarks residents already have been expressing their views on the general election in November. As always we welcome endorsements — and criticisms — of political candidates from our readers.

It has been longstanding policy at the News-Leader not to run endorsements in the Opinion section on the last Sunday prior to the election. For the Aug. 6 primary election, that means the final Sunday endorsements can run is July 28, with a submission deadline of Tuesday, July 23.

To ensure your letter has the best chance of running, submit early and be brief — letters of about 300 words have the best chance for inclusion.
