Monday, July 22: Cool summer pattern fading away

    By Tom Schmidt,

Good Monday morning! It was a cloudy and cool finish to the weekend on Sunday with spotty showers to start the day. Today will be similar with stray showers possible. Partly cloudy skies this afternoon with light winds should make for a pleasant day in the low 80s.

Chances for spotty showers will fade by Tuesday and Wednesday and temperatures will begin to warm. Tuesday will be nice in the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. Wednesday will be warmer still in the upper 80s.

A weak front dipping into the area will cause rain chances to perk up again on Thursday into Friday. It looks like the Ozarks Empire Fair will open with a risk for scattered showers and thunderstorms, but the risk of rain should fade heading into the evening.

High temperatures are back near 90° over this weekend as high pressure tries to build back in from the west. This will end our cooler and generally wetter pattern.
