Twenty years after introducing the teal-green soft drink, Taco Bell is celebrating the milestone with free Mountain Dew Baja Blast — no purchase necessary. For one day only on Monday, July 29, customers can get a free medium-sized Baja Blast fountain drink or a regular sized Baja Blast Freeze.
Mountain Dew Baja Blast was created exclusively for Taco Bell in 2004. Since then, it's become a fan-favorite menu item.
“We’re extremely proud of the synonymous, iconic duo Taco Bell and BAJA BLAST have become,” Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer for Taco Bell, said in a release. “We’re celebrating this incredible milestone just as much as our die-hard Baja fans and can’t wait to share even more epic experiences, innovations and rewards.”
Free drinks aren't the only thing Taco Bell has in store for Baja Blast's 20th birthday. The press release says reward members should keep an eye on the Taco Bell app "Tuesday Drops" page on Aug. 13 for their chance to win a limited-edition Stanley x BAJAVERSARY tumbler. The first 20 users to redeem a tumbler on the day of the drop will win free Mountain Dew Baja Blast for one year.
Available Sept. 3 for rewards members, Taco Bell customers can also expect to see the nationwide release of Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato.
"Developed by PepsiCo Foodservice in partnership with Taco Bell and with a limited release in 2023, the delicious and highly-anticipated gelato will be making its nationwide debut for a limited time, exclusive to Taco Bell Rewards Members in the Taco Bell app. As first announced at this year’s Live Más LIVE event, the creamy and delicious treat is infused with the iconic MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Tropical Lime flavor and is a perfect complement to any cheesy, spicy, saucy order on the Taco Bell menu," the release says.
