The Captain Springfield field has been narrowed to four after 24 hours of voting, but like modern-day youth sports, everyone involved is a winner.

In the first matchup, Springfield Police Public Affairs Officer Cris Swaters might as well be a ghost, because she got busted by Eddie Warren. The co-founder of Missouri Ghostbusters took nearly 70% of the vote in the second-round's most-voted-on match.

Facing him in the semifinals will be Rep. Betsy Fogle, who secured about 60% of the votes against writer and storyteller Ethan Bryan. Call it a far less serious tuneup for the November election.

On the other side of the bracket, funny (and sometimes serious) man Jeff Houghton received about 55% of the votes against Krystal Simon of Care to Learn. The Instagram Husband will face off against the winner of Round 2's closest matchup.

Around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, more than 1,500 votes had been cast in the Art Hains-Brandi VanAntwerp pairing, and Hains held a miniscule two-vote lead.

The matchup shifted back and forth throughout the morning, until noon, when VanAntwerp held a 2% lead for the win.
