Missouri State football expects to be down three starting offensive linemen heading into its second game of the regular season when it travels to Ball State on Saturday.

Bears head coach Ryan Beard updated his team's injuries during his weekly media availability on Monday afternoon.

During the Bears' Saturday night loss at Montana , the Bears lost Cristian Loaiza and Hutson Lillibridge to injury after entering the night without starting tackle Erick Cade.

Beard ruled Loaiza and Lillibridge as "doubtful" ahead of the team's Saturday trip to Ball State. He noted he wasn't certain what the extent of the injuries were saying the Labor Day holiday caused a bit of a delay.

"The guys that did come in and play and perform under that kind of pressure, in that kind of environment... hats off to those guys," Beard said. "They were ready to get in there and do the job the best they could and try to make the best of it."

    Erick Cade

Beard said he isn't hopeful about Cade's availability entering the week and he will likely need to sit out at least one more week. Cade suffered a hip injury during fall camp and did not travel to Montana.

Grant Goodson started in Cade's place.

    Cristian Loaiza

Loaiza started at left tackle and exited the opener injured on the game's second play. He was seen with a brace on his leg and Beard noted he was on crutches on Monday morning.

Loaiza was replaced by Ja'Veo Toliver at left tackle.

    Hutson Lillibridge

Lillibridge left the Montana game in the fourth quarter and was seen in a boot. Beard said Lillibridge has an ankle injury and was on crutches Monday morning.

Lillibridge was replaced by sophomore Thomas Schulte, a Nixa grad, who was listed on the team's depth chart as its backup center.

    Justin Curtis

Curtis was listed as a backup left guard on the depth chart entering the game but was scratched after breaking his ribs during pregame warmups, according to Beard. The head coach said Curtis is the most likely of the four injured offensive linemen to appear on Saturday afternoon.
