The Bears, who will join Conference USA next season, travel to play Ball State on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Muncie, Indiana.

Bears head coach Ryan Beard and his players have downplayed what a win over an FBS opponent would mean before the program becomes one next year. The school hasn't defeated an FBS opponent since 1990 and is 1-40 against such teams all-time.

Ball State is playing its first game of the 2024 season after finishing 4-8 a year ago.
