    Vote now: Who was the Springfield area high school athlete of the week for Week 3?

    Voting is open for the Springfield News-Leader's third athlete of the week poll this season.

    All fall athletes participating in an MSHSAA event are eligible for the weekly vote. Submissions must be made via email to Wyatt Wheeler at wwheeler@news-leader.com each week by Saturday night.

    This week's vote will be open until Wednesday at noon. You may vote as many times as you please and votes will only be taken on News-Leader.com.

    Note to high school football coaches: Statistics via Hudl are no longer publicly available. Please submit your stats to wwheeler@news-leader.com each week or to MaxPreps.

    Springfield area athlete of the week nominees for Week 3

    Gage Hale, Logan-Rogersville: The freshman scored three touchdowns with 253 receiving yards and 36 rushing. He also intercepted two passes defensively in a win over Central.

    Ryder Ross, Strafford: Rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Catholic.

    Braden Dodson, Mount Vernon: Rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns in addition to catching two passes for 69 yards and two scores in a win over McDonald County.

    Khasye Highley, Parkview: Rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Lighthouse Christian.

    Bryer Guerin, Marionville: Completed 8 of 10 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns.

    Dylan Rebura, Nixa: Scored another three touchdowns in a win over Joplin, giving him 11 through three weeks.

    Noah Harrell, Kickapoo: Scored the game-winning touchdown in the Chiefs' historic win over Webb City.

    Cade Spiva, Neosho: Completed 20 of 27 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Lebanon.

    Kellen Lair, Fair Grove: Carried the ball six times for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Also caught one pass for 28 yards and a touchdown in a win over Buffalo.

    Hunter Adams, Ava: Rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown in a win over Mountain Grove.

    Jordan Arthur, Houston: Rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns while also catching two passes for 46 yards and a score in a win over Salem.

    Will Eichelberger, East Newton: Threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Cassville.

    Brennan Diaz, Aurora: Rushed for 101 yards an a touchdown. Also led the team in tackles with 13 in a win over Monett.
