    By Marta Mieze, Springfield News-Leader,

Most Greene County races this year are uncontested, with Republican incumbents running unopposed. Among those are Assessor Brent Johnson, Treasurer Justin Hill, Public Administrator Sherri Martin and Commissioner 1st District Rusty MacLachlan, all of whom will continue to serve in their respective roles.

Additionally, the Greene County Sheriff was decided in the August primary election as there was no Democratic challenger for the office. Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott was re-elected by a landslide over challenger Ben McMains.

The only county-wide position that will be decided on the November ballot will be the Commissioner 2nd District, which represents the eastern side of Greene County. Commissioners serve four-year terms.

The incumbent owns Pillar Insurance with his brothers and works with his family manufacturing business, L&W Industries. He previously served as deputy chief of staff for former Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt. According to his campaign website , Russell's top priorities in office include trust and transparency, fiscal responsibility, efficiency in government and job and business friendly policies. He is married to wife Jenilee and they have two children. Russell has been endorsed by the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield.

Raised by adoptive parents, including a union electrician, McGrady served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, spending four years in military service, and has worked as a Realtor for 29 years, according to his campaign website . He also worked at CoxHealth dealing with property management and worked at the corporate level at O'Reilly Auto Parts. McGrady is a husband and father of three children.
