    Here are the Springfield area high school football top performers from Week 5 of the 2024 season. Submit your team's statistics to: wwheeler@news-leader.com:

    Preston McCracken, Republic

    McCracken has become a weekly feature in this article. He went for a ridiculous 327 yards and six touchdowns in the Tigers' win over Joplin. The baseball star will visit Joey Hawkins and Missouri State this weekend.

    Gavin Johnston, Mount Vernon

    Johnston ranks among the top quarterbacks in the Ozarks for a reason. He was 16 of 24 for 277 yards and two touchdowns in the Mountaineers' first win over Lamar in 15 years.

    Braden Dodson, Mount Vernon

    The Dodson-Johnston duo is as good as any in the area. Dodson was a bell cow for the Mountaineers, carrying the ball 30 times for 194 yards and four scores against Lamar.

    Dylan Rebura, Nixa

    Welcome to another edition of "what did Dylan Rebura do on Friday night?" This time, he rushed for 185 yards and four touchdowns, giving him 17 scores through five weeks. Nixa won 56-12 at Lebanon.

    Ryder Ross, Strafford

    Strafford's star running back added another big night on the ground to his resume. He went off for 239 yards and four touchdowns in a big Mid-Lakes win over Reeds Spring.

    Brooks Eaton, Kickapoo

    Eaton led Kickapoo to a win over rival Glendale with an efficient 11 for 15 passing game with 90 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs have won two of their last three heading into next week's matchup at Nixa.

    Jackson Lucas, Webb City

    The Cardinals snapped their two-game losing skid by handing Neosho its first loss of the season. Lucas led the team's ground attack by rushing for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

    Landyn Collins, Carthage

    Collins found the endzone three times to help the Tigers bounce back in a win over Willard, kicking off Central Ozark Conference West play.

    Jax Glendenning, Lebanon

    Glendenning had another big night on the ground despite falling to Nixa. He added 169 yards and two touchdowns when he ranks among the state's leaders in rushing.
