Behind the stomach-dropping rides, eye-catching shows and tasty food, Silver Dollar City creatives and staff have been busy.

Silver Dollar City announced its largest investment in park history on Thursday: Silver Dollar City Resort. Developed on a portion of the amusement park's 1,200 undeveloped acres, the seven-story resort will be located to the west of the park, overlooking Table Rock Lake. It is expected to open by the end of 2026. It will feature 260 themed rooms, an indoor-outdoor pool, a full-service restaurant, 1,700-square-feet of meeting space and a special entrance to Silver Dollar City.

Silver Dollar City Resort is a part of a half a billion dollar investment Herschend Family Entertainment, Silver Dollar City's parent company, is making over the next 10 years. Of the total $500 million, about $100 million will be utilized for the Silver Dollar City Resort, Herschend CEO Andrew Wexler told the News-Leader.

Though it may be two more years until Silver Dollar City Resort opens its doors, 2025 will feature plenty of other new festivals, shows and expansions at the amusement park.

    Spring Exposition

The Spring Exposition will be new to Silver Dollar City's festival lineup in 2025. It will run April 10, 2025 to May 12, 2025.

Notably, the Springfield Exposition will coincide with the debut of an expanded plaza — the same space that hosts the Pumpkin Plaza during the park's Harvest Festival.

More: Silver Dollar City will debut a new spring festival next year

The festival will also feature a new parasol sky over Valley Road, a new Fest House in Red Gold Heritage Hall, the Down-Home Clogging Jamboree and Ragtime Piano Showman. Jambalaya pasta, shrimp po’boy sandwiches, an Ozarks fish fry, fried cheese curds and cornbread salad will be a part of the new festival's menu, too.

New summer shows, fireworks and extended hours

During Silver Dollar City's Summer Celebration, which will run June 7, 2025 through Aug. 3, 2025, a new Wild West Comedy Stunt Show and Silver Dollar Circus will debut. In addition to the park's evening fireworks, a drone display will be added to enhance the evening experience.

Between July 12, 2025 and Aug. 3, 2025, Silver Dollar City will be extending its hours until 10 p.m.

    'Heart of Christmas'

In about a year's time, Silver Dollar City will premiere a new show for its An Old Time Christmas festival, which will run Nov. 1, 2025 through Dec. 30, 2025. The show, "Heart of Christmas" will feature Bluegrass musician Rhonda Vincent every day the park is open in December. Throughout November, family band Lindley Creek will headline the show.

In addition to "Heart of Christmas" the amusement park will debut a new Grand Plaza Fir and Lighting Ceremony, comparable to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, President Brad Thomas said, in 2025.
