<body><div><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=0q5QB2_0lHeduCU00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0q5QB2_0lHeduCU00" width="1320" height="741" ></figure>SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield Public Schools wants people to be aware that there will be a large first responder presence Tuesday afternoon at Thurston High School, as the campus hosts the "Every 15 Minutes" Campaign.Thurston High School students will see the impacts of distracted and impaired driving through a two-day education program.Included is a school-wide assembly, guest speaker, and a mock crash scene."Every 15 Minutes" is meant to challenge students to think twice before drinking and driving, getting into a vehicle driven by someone who may be intoxicated, or before using things like a cell phone, which can be distracting while driving.The goal of the program is to show students the impact impaired and distracted driving can have on family and friends.Multiple first responders from the Springfield Police Department, Mohawk Valley Fire &amp; Rescue, Eugene Springfield Fire Department, Reach Air Medical Services and Musgrove Family Mortuary will be participating in the program.As a result, residents can expect to hear sirens and see a large first responder presence between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Tuesday.</div></body>
