Free Movie Fridays are back this summer in Robertson County.

The Springfield Parks and Recreation Department and Walmart of Springfield recently announced the event's return. Movie nights will be held at 6 p.m. on the third Friday of each month through September at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park on South Main Street, according to a press release.

Upcoming movie showings include Barbie, rated PG-13, on July 19, Migration, rated PG, on August 16 and Kung Fu Panda 4, rated PG, on Sept. 20.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was featured last week as the first movie of the season. It was sponsored by Chick-fil-A.

Concessions are available for purchase and attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch, city officials said.

Free Movie Fridays are not a rain or shine event.
