STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Robert T. Ranno, a retired NYPD detective known for his generous spirit, died on July 23 in New Jersey. He was 59. New York City’s homicide rate remains higher than it was before the pandemic in 2019 — even as the national average has largely returned and even dropped below pre-pandemic levels, a major new national crime study has found. If you follow my page then you know that one of my favorite things to do is to go hiking. ENGLEWOOD — An elementary school principal and her son died in a head-on crash in South Africa on the Fourth of July that claimed four lives.
