2 men injured after truck crashes into tractor in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Wis. -- Two men were hurt following a crash involving a truck and a tractor Friday afternoon in the Town of Springfield

A Dane County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said the crash was first reported at around 4:37 p.m. on County Highway K west of US Highway 12. A pickup truck traveling east on County Highway K was cresting a hill when it struck an eastbound tractor.

The tractor driver, a 70-year-old man, was taken by Middleton EMS to UW Hospital. The extent of his injuries was not known as of Friday night.

The pickup truck driver, a 32-year-old Waunakee man, was taken to UW Hospital with minor injuries. He was cited for failing to maintain control and following too closely.

County Highway K was closed for several hours Friday for crash investigation.
