Describe the part of your mission focusing on veterans and the work. The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Texas Capital Area Chapter is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army and supporting a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation. The AUSA – Texas Capital Area Chapter is open to all Army ranks and all components — including Active, National Guard, Army Reserve — Government civilians, retirees, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, concerned citizens and family members. Indeed our AUSA chapter welcomes anyone who subscribes to the philosophy of a strong national defense with special concern for the US Army. Community businesses and defense industry companies are also welcome to join AUSA.

HOUSTON (AP) — The number of Texas deaths after Hurricane Beryl came ashore and knocked out power to millions of residents climbed to at least 36 on Thursday as officials confirmed more people who died in homes that were left without air conditioning during sweltering heat.
