Firefighters extinguish fully engulfed RV Wednesday morning
An RV is considered a total loss after it became fully engulfed in flames early Wednesday morning. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office, at around 1:00 a.m. Greenwood and Tower fire departments responded to the intersection of County Road 77 and Lake Vermillion Reservation Road in rural Greenwood Township, just shortly west of Tower, Minnesota to the report of a Recreational Vehicle (RV) on fire.

Scuba diver dies in Crane Lake salvage effort
CRANE LAKE- A 50-year-old male scuba diver from Embarrass drowned on Sunday while attempting to salvage a piece of heavy equipment in Crane Lake. In an item posted to social media on Saturday, assistance from a diver was requested to recover a skid steer that sank in 70 feet of water. The diver who responded, Willam Rebarich, was not affiliated with any recovery or salvage company. He was assisting the recovery effort from a barge that would have been used to transport the skid steer back to shore.

CRANE LAKE, Minn. — An investigation is underway after a 50-year-old man died early Sunday afternoon while scuba diving in a northern Minnesota lake.The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the man had been assisting a group of people in recovering a piece of sunken machinery in approximately 70 feet of water at Crane Lake.The diver had failed to resurface after spending a "period of time" underwater, authorities say. Those on the scene began rescue efforts before first responders arrived to help.The man was pulled to the shore and pronounced dead, according to the sheriff's office.Authorities say the man had been trained as a scuba diver but was not affiliated with any recovery or salvage company.The victim's name will be released at a later time.
