Area Regional Transit Expands Art On Demand Service
ART (Area Regional Transit) is pleased to announce that Art On Demand is expanding the service areas offered. Currently, riders can book on-demand shared ride services in the Tradition Area (zone one) and the St Lucie West\Torino Area (zone two). The latest expansion area will be in Fort Pierce (zone three). The boundaries are from Midway Road to just north of the Treasure Coast International Airport and from Kings Highway east to 25th Street.
Bubba, a 375-pound sea turtle found wounded in Florida, released into Atlantic Ocean
After a slow, steady recovery in Florida, a 375-pound loggerhead sea turtle named Bubba is swimming free in the Atlantic Ocean. The male turtle was found with injuries to both front flippers on April 10 by biologists with the Inwater Research Group in St. Lucie County on the east coast of Florida. The biologists used a crane to lift Bubba out of the water into a pickup and take him to the Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center in Melbourne, Florida, the center said in a news release this week.

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — More information was revealed in the death of a 16-year-old boy whose body was recovered from a canal in Fort Pierce on Thursday. According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office (SLCSO) Anthony Paschal's family contacted law enforcement at 7 p.m. on Wednesday after he had left his home at 4 p.m. and never returned. Home security cameras showed Paschal leaving his home and locking the door behind him.
