    Loffler Appreciation Day will be held all day Friday, July 19. Live music by the center’s Loffler Sunshine Singers and local band Folk Salad, face painting, cornhole, classic cars and line dancing. St. Mary’s County Government agencies will be ion hand and the Salted Scoop ice cream truck will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m.

    Nutrition Education: Let’s Learn About Sodium will be held noon to 1 p.m. Monday, July 22, at the Northern Senior Activity Center. Dietician Donna Taggert will discuss the benefits of sodium, its negative effects and more. Free, but registration required.     The St. Mary’s County Caregivers’ Support Group will hold its first meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Garvey Senior Activity Center. The support group is designed to be a safe space for caregivers to share their experiences and learn about resources and is open to caregivers of all types, including those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia, diagnosed with Parkinsons, recovering from a stroke, or experiencing other physical, cognitive or mental challenges.     Radiant Energy: Chakra Balance & Meridian Flow with Singing Bowls will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Nborthern Senior Activity Center. Instructors Judi Lyons and Paty Massón will use unique energy movement flows, Qigong, guided meditation, and lovely singing bowls, and explain how to create flow and balance within your Energy Systems to promote overall radiance and vitality.     Crafts with Penny: Beach-themed Wine Bottle with Lights will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Turn a wine bottle into a beach theme décor.     The Loffler Book Club will discuss Julia Flynn’s “Gone Girl” 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. The club meets on the first Friday of each month and next month’s selection will be Lisa Wingate’s “Before We Were Yours.” The club welcomes new members and feedback for future book choices.     From Farm to Your Table: Farmers Feeding St. Mary’s will host two events in which it will offer free fresh produce to the community: Thursday, Aug. 15, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department in Lexington Park; and Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at U-Haul Moving & Storage, 46041 Signature Lane in Lexington Park. Produce such as corn, tomatoes, squash and more will be available at each event. In addition, frozen meat will be available at the Sept. 7 event. Family units will be limited to one box of produce per event and distribution continues while supplies last.     Stepping On will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays from Aug. 6 through Sept. 17 at Calvert Pines Senior Center. The free evidence-based falls prevention program is designed to help avoid hazards and falls.     Meet with a pharmacist 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at North Beach Senior Center to review medications and supplements to ensure they work as intended. Call 410-257-2549 to make a free appointment.

    Learn about Sherman’s March to the Sea 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Southern Pines Senior Center. The presentation will dive into the significant military campaign during the American Civil War, led by Union General William Sherman. Registration required. Call 410-586-2748.

    Project Linus will meet 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Calvert Pines Senior Center. Project Linus creates and donates blankets to children in need. Knitters, sewers, and crocheters are welcome. This program meets at Calvert Pines on the third Friday of the month. Call 410-535-4606.

    Walk with Others will be held 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Southern Pines Senior Centers. Stroll along the walking path. Event will be canceled in case of inclement or very humid weather. Call 410-586-2749.

    Lunch is served at noon Monday through Friday at each senior center. Menus include lemon glazed chicken, beef tips and cheese ravioli. Contact the center you would like to dine at at least 24 hours in advance.
