Woman Burned In RV Fire Flown To Hospital In St. Mary's County
Shortly after 8 a.m. on July 15, first responders were called to the 23200 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, when a fire inside the vehicle was reported. According to the Maryland Fire Marshal, at the time the blaze broke out, the woman was inside the RV with two children.

Underage Firearm Possession Leads To Arrest In St. Mary’s County
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On July 9, 2024, Zemar D. Batts, a 19-year-old resident of Lexington Park, Maryland, was arrested by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office for illegal possession of a firearm. The arrest followed a search and seizure warrant executed at his residence at 21380 Dayflower Place.
Seniors, Check Out Farmers Market Program
This year’s Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program distribution event is set at the Garvey Senior Activity Center on Tuesday, July 23, from 8:30 to 11am. Eligible senior participants will receive a total of $50 on an electronic benefits (debit) card equipped with a QR code. These cards can be used in any dollar increment up to $50 at participating vendors. A limited number of cards will be available and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
