2 Local Fire Departments Awarded Funding for Equipment, Training and Supplies
UTICA, N.Y. -- A few upstate fire departments in New York will soon receive a total of $665,310.24 in federal funding. The funding, which was announced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, will support nine fire departments by providing protective gear, training and supplies for emergency personnel.

NEWBURGH – Several residents were displaced after a fire at 103 Liberty Street in Newburgh on Thursday night. The blaze at the four-story building was reported at 8:08 p.m. Fire crews identified a strong odor of smoke on the upper three floors, which led to the discovery of a small fire in a bedroom on the third floor.
