FC Barcelona and Spain Star's Father Stabbed In Attack

Mounir Nasraoui, the father of FC Barcelona and Spain star winger Lamine Yamal, was stabbed multiple times in a parking lot in Mataró, a town northeast of Barcelona, on the evening of Wednesday, August 15.

Nasraoui was immediately taken to the Can Ruti hospital in the Badalona municipality following the attack. While his condition was initially serious, he is reported to be out of danger and has been discharged from the hospital, as per Spanish outlet Relevo .

The attack is allegedly an act of revenge, as several witnesses reported that Nasraoui had an argument and got into an altercation with some individuals in the area while walking his dog.

The 17-year-old Yamal has emerged as the best young player in the world and is arguably already one of the best players in the sport overall after a breakout season for Barca in 2023-24.

Nasraoui, a Moroccan national whose unconfirmed age varies from 34 to 36 according to different outlets, is a familiar face at his son’s games, proudly showing his support for the La Masia academy graduate.

Yamal became the youngest player to appear and score in UEFA European Championship history for Spain last month, and he was a vital member of the team as they won the UEFA Euro 2024.

The 5-foot-10 star led the tournament in assists with four, and he also scored one gial in the semifinals against France, which was named Goal of the Tournament.

In addition, Yamal won the Young Player of the Tournament award and was a part of the UEFA Team of the Tournament as one of the forwards.

Known for his exceptional dribbling, skills, and pace, Yamal scored a total of 7 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions for Barcelona in the 2023-24 season.
