Breaking: Ohio State Announces Starting Quarterback For The 2024 Season

Ohio State will open its season against Akron on Saturday, August 31st, and head coach Ryan Day officially named his starting quarterback on Thursday.

Day stated that Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard won the starting job over Devin Brown, which isn't much of a shock since Howard was the main guy in spring ball and at the start of fall camp.

Last season, Brown lost the starting job to Kyle McCord, who helped bring the Buckeyes to an 11-1 record with their only loss against Michigan.

Instead of McCord coming back to Ohio State for another season, he bounced and headed to Syracuse, paving the way for Brown to be the starter this year.

In a quick turn of events, Will Howard transferred into the program after his initial thoughts were to enter the NFL Draft. However, he changed his mind and wanted to play another college football season at one of the best schools in the country.

Howard has the chance to lead Ohio State to the National Championship and put his name into one of the greats ever to wear the scarlet and gray.

The Buckeyes have one of the best rosters in all of college football, and if Howard can give the team a little more than what McCord gave them last year, there is a great chance they could be playing until the middle of January.

It will be interesting to see what Howard can provide and how he adapts to the new offense run under first-year offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
