The Ravens Have A Coaching Problem

The Baltimore Ravens escaped their week 3 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in a 28-25 win. It almost became a loss as Baltimore almost blew this game. The Ravens were up 28-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter. This is a tremendous concern, and this has got many to think about previous performance Baltimore has had the past few years. It's time for fans to admit Baltimore has a big coaching problem.

John Harbaugh is a respectable coach and he's been a part of Baltimore since 2008. He's had a ton of success in the preseason, and regular season. Harbaugh even won a Superbowl with the organization. His recent history had been full of playoff losses and blown leads.

The Ravens have struggled to close out games convincingly. The game management has lacked aggression, the play calling keeps getting sloppy, and it's a yearly tradition with failing to close games. With all that talent on defense and offense, it's not an excuse anymore. This is starting to be a growing trend with the Baltimore Ravens.

Another concern with Baltimore is the lack of discipline when it comes to penalties. The Ravens are one of the most penalized teams in the NFL through the first 3 weeks with 31 total penalties. The penalties kept being a problem against Dallas as they were called for 13 of them and lost 105 yards.

Fair or unfair, the question is being asked, Should the Ravens fire Harbaugh today? The answer to that question is a firm "NO!". It's too early to do it now and there's still plenty of football to be played. The conversation should not be immediately dismissed. If the Ravens continue to showcase their problems and disappoint in the playoffs yet again, then there will be talks of parting ways with Harbaugh.

The finger has to be pointed at coaching and while the coordinator keeps changing, what hasn't is the Head Coach. With Harbaugh's track record, it's time to call him out. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call from the coaching staff. For now, the Ravens have a coaching problem and that needs to be fixed because of the competitiveness of the AFC Conference.
