Fireworks, Stock Car Racing on Schedule for Today at Tri-County Fair
The weather has cooperated nicely for this year's Tri-County Fair. And you have two days left to enjoy it before it closes Monday night. The fun in Mendota includes a carnival and vendors each day, as well as free parking, a petting zoo, and pony rides. Each day is special. Tonight, for instance, you can check out stock car racing at 6, and fireworks at 9. You'll also have fun in the beer garden, where the band Free Beer and Chicken is scheduled to perform tonight from 8 to 11.

Streator Overdose Awareness Walk offers encouragement, advice and help
It was easy to spot the organizers of the Streator Overdose Awareness Superhero Walk Saturday. They were the ones wearing the purple capes. Over the afternoon in City Park, resource providers offered information. Visitors added chalk drawings offering encouragement and remembering those lost to addiction.
