Plans for Addition to Alpine School Presented at Thursday's Sparta Board of Education Meeting
SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Superintendent Matthew Beck will be presenting plans for an addition to the Alpine Elementary School at the board of education meeting on Thursday. This initiative would require voter approval in bond referendum special election. According to the agenda Beck and architect Allen Barnett of DiCara Rubino Architects will present their “referendum proposal” for the expansion project.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTEROn September 18 Beck sent a letter to the “Sparta Community” explaining the board of education and district administrators have been “collaborating with the architect to create plans for a referendum that would bring a much needed addition to Alpine Elementary School.”“Necessary facility upgrades” to other school buildings will be included in the referendum initiative, Beck said in his letter without further details. The public will be given the opportunity to comment on the plans and offer input after Beck’s presentation at the meeting on Thursday, according to the letter. West Orange Residents Accuse Restaurant of Noise Pollution
WEST ORANGE, NJ – During the September 24 West Orange Town Council meeting, the co-owner of the Llewelyn Parq Grill & Bar, Anthony Sharperson, spoke about the efforts they’ve made to reduce noise since a few residents had talked about sounds carrying to their properties. There is a patio in Llewelyn Parq's backyard.Sharperson stated, “We’ve received a few noise ordinance complaints, some summonses, which have been overturned. Most recently, we received one last Friday at 6 p.m. We made ourselves aware of what rules, and we've self-monitored.” He reported that they added a vestibule to limit any noise from anyone...
Sparta Girls Tennis Shuts Out Newton
SPARTA, NJ – Sparta girls tennis swept their matches taking the win against Newton 5-0 on Tuesday. First Singles: Sara Schwarz 6-0, 6-1 Second Singles: Julia Miller 6-2, 6-2 Third Singles: Emily Dondero 6-0, 6-0 First Doubles: Maureen Gaines and Emilie Fagen 6-1, 6-3 Second Doubles: Molly Tomko and Sunny Young 6-2, 6-2 Sparta’s record moves to 2-8.
