‘A true icon’: Legendary Duke sports broadcaster, Stanly County native dies at 81
DURHAM, N.C. (WBTV) - Legendary Duke University radio play-by-play man Bob Harris died Wednesday, the school said. The 81-year-old served on the Blue Devils’ football and men’s basketball broadcast team for 41 years before his retirement in 2017. During that time, he was a three-time recipient of the North Carolina Broadcaster of the Year award.

Stanly County Schools breaks ground on new Endy Elementary classrooms
