South Dakota Driver Clocked Doing Double the Limit in Nebraska
An afternoon food run turned out to be very costly for a South Dakota driver on the roads of northeastern Nebraska. According to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office, a little after 1:00 PM Sunday (July 14), 19-year-old Ariz Zarate-Gonzalez of Arlington was clocked doing 119 miles per hour in a 65 mile-per-hour zone on Highway 57 about 25 miles southeast of Norfolk.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office ticketed a man over the weekend for driving nearly twice the speed limit on his way to a Norfolk restaurant. Just after 1 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office clocked a northbound car on Highway 57 going 118 mph in a 65 mph zone roughly 12 miles south of Stanton, said Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger in a press release. The driver, Ariz Zarate-Gonzalez, 19, of Arlington, South Dakota, told the deputy who stopped him that he was in a hurry to get home but first needed to stop at Raising Cane’s in Norfolk to get chicken fingers.

PILGER - A Houston man wanted out of Indiana was arrested following a traffic stop in Stanton County Friday afternoon. The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 15 for speeding about eight miles south of Pilger and made contact with 32-year-old Delvin Eberado Velasquez-Romero.

Wanted Houston man arrested in Stanton County
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a wanted Texas man on Friday who is believed to be in the United States illegally. Around 3 p.m., the sheriff’s office stopped a southbound car on Highway 15, about 8 miles south of Pilger, for speeding, said Sheriff Mike Unger in a press release. The driver, Delvin Eberado Velasquez-Romero, 32, of Houston was allegedly found to have no operator’s license and had fictitious Texas in-transit decals on his vehicle.
