Quiet for most this evening but look out if you live to the east
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Showers and thunderstorms last night and early this morning brought some nice rain to the area, along with a little bit of severe weather over western portions of the area. The focus for the next chance of showers and thunderstorms will mostly be east of the Tri-Cities area. East Central and Southeast Nebraska, mainly along and east of Highway 81 will have the best chance of severe storms, including large hail potentially to tennis ball size, severe wind gusts up to around 70 MPH, and perhaps some isolated tornadoes. Can’t rule out localized flooding where locations picked up heavy rainfall from this morning’s early showers and storms. The chance of rain gets lower the farther southwest you go. Later tonight, showers and thunderstorms are expected to clear out. Lows tonight will fall into the 60s.
