TVA Board approves additional $150M in advanced nuclear funding

(WVLT) -On Friday, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Board of Directors announced that $150 million in additional advanced nuclear funding was approved to support continued design work on potential small modular reactors (SMRs) at its Clinch River site near Oak Ridge. It’s the latest announcement since the board also approved a rate increase.

Wayne Man Dies In Crash
A Wayne County man was killed Monday after crashing his motorcycle into a stopped vehicle south of Collinwood. Tennessee Highway Patrol reports indicate that Elijah Mayberry, age 23, was traveling along Chisholm Road around 5:40 p.m. when he crashed into the back of a truck. The driver of the truck had stopped in the roadway to negotiate a turn into a driveway. The crash remains under investigation.
