First Ever State Record Fish in Iowa
(Lewis) Starting January 1, there will be a new list of state record fish to attempt to get in addition to the original list. On Saturday morning, DNR Fisheries Biologist John Lorenzen’s DNR Report on KSOM, the state conservation commission, established a set of records of large Iowa fish caught by anglers in June 1962, thus beginning the official list of State Record Fish. Interestingly, the first record submitted was from a seven-pound, four-ounce, 22.5-inch largemouth bass caught at Cold Springs Park southwest of Lewis.

We’re experiencing a mix of sun and clouds today, with occasional patches of thicker cloud cover through the afternoon and evening. Thousands Without Power After Monday's Storms
(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- over 40- thousand Ameren Illinois and MidAmerican customer's were without power on Monday Evening. The outages started around seven on Monday night. As of 10 Monday night, the amount of outages started to go down. About 35 thousand were without power in the Quad Cities metro.
