OTTAWA COUNTY, MI - What is a better way to end the last days of summer than speeding down a giant slip-and-slide at torpedo speed? Nothing. That’s why an annual community-wide event is back for another round of four hundred feet of fun. The 11th annual Slip N’ Slide is Saturday, Aug. 17 at Rosewood Park in Jenison. Initially created by longtime residents, the event is now run by Never the Same, a national youth ministry organization all proceeds benefit.
TRAFFIC ALERT: Roads near Mecosta County Sheriff's Office getting fixed over next four days
Per a release by the City of Big Rapids, stretches of road near the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office will be milled and paved over the next few days. Sections of roads under the construction are North 4th Avenue, South Stewart Avenue, and a section of Ives Avenue. These roads will be milled from August 14 through August 16, with final paving taking place on August 17. Street parking will be unavailable during this four day period.
