Outrage Brewing Over Starbucks CEO's Private Jet 'Supercommute'
Green groups' anger percolated this week after it was revealed that Brian Niccol, Starbucks' new CEO, will "supercommute" approximately 1,000 miles between one of his homes in California and the coffee giant's Seattle headquarters three times a week. A Starbucks spokesperson said earlier this week that "while Brian will have an office in Southern California, his primary office and a majority of his time will be spent in our Seattle Support Center." STEM and Journalism camp draws more than 125 middle schoolers to MTHS
During the 2024 summer break from Aug. 20-22, Mountlake Terrace High School held its first journalism camp for aspiring young journalists. The Junior J-Camp, as it was called, was run in conjunction with the Edmonds School District’s annual STEM Camp – a highly successful mainstay each summer at Terrace. Overall, more than 125 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from throughout the area attended the camps.

In an intriguing blend of education and agriculture, Tacoma's Stadium High School has put a team of goats to work on its campus as part of an eco-friendly effort to manage its overgrown vegetation. A swarm of approximately 50 named goats, including Vincent van Goat and Snowflake, has been brought in by Tacoma Public Schools and are currently clearing brush and weeds with an efficiency that machines can't match, as reported by FOX13 Seattle, these goats are not just furry workers but, they're seen as a novelty by locals who often stop to take pictures and interact with the animals from a distance.
