Aqua seeks rate increases; public hearings set before regulators
HARRISBURG – Water bills could be on the rise in the Shenandoah area, among other parts of the state next year, and regulators want your input. Aqua Pennsylvania filed an application in May seeking a rate increase from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Aqua purchased the water system serving the Greater Shenandoah Area and took control last year.

Pennsylvania is hoping to regain an advantage over Maryland Friday as the Big 26 Baseball Classic opens at FNB Field, the home of the Harrisburg Senators. The All-Star showcase, featuring prep standouts in the Class of 2025 and ‘26, is operated by the Hershey Harrisburg Sports & Event Authority.
West Nile Virus detected in more area communities
The Allegheny County Health Department says mosquito samples collected around the area have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The areas include Allegheny Commons, Fineview, Garfield, Perry South, Morningside and the Hill District.
