How much money did UNCW athletics generate from ticket sales last season?

Another year of collegiate sports is getting underway for UNCW .

The 2023-24 school year was a strong one for the Seahawks , who captured four Coastal Athletic Association titles and piled up countless individual accolades.

Below is a list of total attendance and ticket revenue figures for UNCW's five major sports programs during the 2023-24 school year.

UNCW men's basketball ticket sales 2023-24: $649,349

Unsurprisingly, UNCW men's basketball is the university's marquee sporting program. With strong on-the-court performance in recent years, Seahawks fans have filled Trask Coliseum more frequently than any other sport at the school.

UNCW says it sold 63,445 men's basketball tickets during the 2023-24 school year, accounting for nearly $650,000 in total sales ― more than 75% percent of the athletic department's total revenue from game ticket sales.

UNCW baseball ticket sales 2023-24: $154,455

The Seahawks claimed their second straight Coastal Athletic Association championship title in May and advanced to the NCAA baseball tournament for the third time in five years.

That solid showing resulted in 40,997 tickets sold at Brooks Field this spring, bringing in $154,455 in total sales.

UNCW women's basketball ticket sales 2023-24: $21,150

The women's basketball team at UNCW started its rebuild under new coach Nicole Woods last year, finishing the season 5-25. Despite some struggles, the team sold 12,093 tickets, bringing in more than $21,000.

UNCW sports total ticket revenue, attendance for 2023-24

In total, UNCW brought in $855,010 in total ticket revenue for the 2023-24 school year. Total attendance soared just above 132,000 across the school's five largest sports.

These figures cover ticket sales and attendance only. Other revenue sources, such as fundraisers, donations, and concessions, could significantly boost each program's earnings.
