Former Penn State women’s basketball guard Tay Valladay has joined the Lady Lions staff as the director of player development, the team announced Thursday. Valladay spent one season at Penn State as a graduate transfer after stints at Virginia and Marquette.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tay back to our Lady Lion family in a new capacity,” head coach Carolyn Kieger said in a release . “Her fierce competitiveness, understanding of the game, experience on the court, and dedication to our team’s success make her an invaluable addition to our organization. We are confident that her impact will significantly enhance our efforts both on and off the court.”

During her lone season at Penn State, Valladay appeared in 19 games and started 13 times before her season ended due to an injury picked up against Minnesota in late January. She finished her year with 10.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, as well as 23 steals.
