AstroFest To Return During Arts Fest

As if Arts Fest wasn’t cool enough during the day.

AstroFest, presented by Penn State’s Eberly College of Science, will return to Penn State for its 25th anniversary and welcome visitors to the Davey Laboratory from Wednesday, July 10, through Saturday, July 13. The event will run from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. during Arts Fest in State College.

The 2024 edition of AstroFest will bring back the likes of the oobleck kiddie pool and introduce such as a talk on the upcoming rare nova explosion in the T Coronae Borealis.

On clear nights, visitors will be able to use the rooftop telescopes to see the moon, star clusters, and more up close. Inside the planetarium, visitors can see imagery and animation of the night sky with the Davey Lab’s new projector.
